Medicare
People who meet the following criteria, could be covered for home health
care services by the Federal Medicare Program. Services must be ordered by a
physician, podiatrist, osteopathic or dentist.
- Age of 65 or older, or under 65 and qualified as disabled, or have
Chronic Renal disease.
Citizen or legal resident of the U.S.
- Home care program has been recommended and prescribed by a licensed
physician.
- Patient is homebound (difficult to get around, poor vision, require
physical or personal assistance)
- Patient's condition requires intermittent skilled nursing, physical,
occupational or speech therapy. This may include observation,
instruction or hands on care.
Qualifications For Medicare Recipients
To qualify for the service, the patient must be under the care of a
physician, osteopathic, podiatrist, or dentist; homebound; and in need of
intermittent skilled care. This may include observation, instruction or
hands on care.
